The black soft solid-core light-guide POF is a PMMA plastic optical fiber rod jacketed in black PVC, supplied in large outer diameters of 14, 17.3, 18 and 20 mm. It is an end-emitting light guide: light fed in at one end exits at the far end, while the black jacket suppresses side glow. It carries light only, not power, and is paired with an LED fiber illuminator on the source end.

FAQ
Does the black glowing by itself?
No. The black PVC jacket suppresses side emission; the fiber only carries light from an LED illuminator fed at one end. The glowing color is determined by the light source, not by the fiber.
What does IP68 apply to?
The supplier listing mentions IP68, but a passive plastic light-guide rod itself has no enclosure rating. IP68 normally belongs to the illuminator fitting used underwater; confirm the light-engine rating for your pool installation.
Can I cut the 100 m roll to length?
Yes. Cut ends must be re-polished for good light output; tell us the length and end treatment you need.
