The armored dual-core PMMA POF cable carries two 1.0 mm PMMA plastic optical fibers side by side inside a heavy 4.4 x 6.0 mm gray jacket with Kevlar aramid strength members, for rugged short-range optical sensing and signal links.
Overview
PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) POF is a large-core step-index plastic fiber immune to electromagnetic noise. The cross-section photo shows two clear 1.0 mm fibers with yellow aramid strength members under a heavy gray jacket – the armored/rugged construction that suits industrial routing. Per the supplier family table, dual-core POF of this style is rated at ≤0.20 dB/km and supplied on 500 m rolls.
