Asahi Kasei MCL-1500-1.75 / MCL-2000-24 Image Fiber

Asahi Kasei MCL image-transmission fiber bundles: MCL-1500-1.75 (1.5 mm fiber, 1.75 mm PE coat) and MCL-2000-24 (2.0 mm, 2.4 mm), 13000 cores, NA 0.5, for.

The Asahi Kasei MCL-1500-1.75 and MCL-2000-24 are image-transmission (imaging) fiber bundles with 13,000 PMMA cores each. They are used to relay images in industrial oscilloscopes, endoscopes and inspection probes, as a lower-cost, flexible alternative to silica image bundles.

Product Overview

Asahi Kasei image fibers pack thousands of tiny PMMA cores into a single bundle; the MCL series carries 13,000 cores. Per the Asahi image-fiber table: MCL-1500-1.75 has a 1.5 mm fiber diameter with a 1.75 mm PE coating, and MCL-2000-24 has a 2.0 mm fiber diameter with a 2.4 mm PE coating; both have a numerical aperture (NA) of 0.5. The related MCI series (7,400 cores) and MBI/MBL series are listed on the same table for cross-reference. See the full range on our POF fiber optical cable category page.

Key Features

FAQ

What is the difference between MCL and MCI?

Both are PE-coated image/sensor fibers. MCL bundles have 13,000 cores; MCI bundles have 7,400 cores. MCL-1500-1.75 is the 1.5 mm / 1.75 mm-coat member; MCI-1500-1.75 is the same diameter with fewer cores.

What does the number in the part name mean?

The first number is the fiber bundle diameter in millimeters (1.5 or 2.0); the suffix is the PE coating diameter (1.75 or 2.4 mm). The MCL prefix denotes the 13,000-core grade.

Is this a single-core communication fiber?

No. It is a multi-core image bundle made of 13,000 tiny PMMA cores used to relay an image, not a single-core data fiber.

Why Choose Us

We supply Asahi Kasei MCL image fibers by the recognized part number, keep the image-fiber table traceable, and show the real core count, fiber diameter and coating for each grade. Start from the home page or the POF category to explore related products.
