The 1.0 mm PMMA end-glow fiber is a bare, unjacketed step-index plastic optical fiber that carries light from an LED illuminator to its cut end, where it glows. It is the most common grade used to build star ceilings, fiber-optic curtains and decorative light points. This 1.00 mm version is supplied on 1500 m spools.
Product Overview
Light is fed into one end by a fiber-optic illuminator (LED projector) and exits only at the cut far end, giving a bright pinpoint light with no side glow. Because the fiber itself is passive and carries only light — not voltage — it is safe for pools, saunas, cars and decorative installations where electricity cannot be run.
The 1.00 mm diameter matches row L04 of the supplier family table: 0.980 mm PMMA core, fluoropolymer cladding, 200 dB/km transmission loss and a 1500 m roll length. Other diameters (0.25–3.0 mm) and longer/shorter roll lengths are available from the same family.

FAQ
Do I need an LED light engine to use this fiber? Yes. This is bare fiber only — it has no LEDs of its own. It must be connected to a fiber-optic illuminator (LED projector) whose output diameter matches the fiber bundle. The 6000K / AC165-265V / IP68 figures in the supplier listing describe the illuminator, not this fiber.
