The ESKA SK20 is Mitsubishi’s 0.5 mm bare PMMA step-index plastic optical fiber, supplied here on a 6000 m roll. It is a fine, flexible bare fiber used for dense star points, compact light guides and sensing where a 1.0 mm fiber would be too large.
Product Overview
SK20 is part of the supplier’s PMMA bare-fiber family (rows L01–L06 / SK20). With a 0.486 mm core and 0.50 mm overall diameter it carries visible light from an LED illuminator and is commonly used where many fine light points are needed within a small area.
Because it is unjacketed PMMA, it must be protected where abrasion or moisture exposure is expected; it is also cut and polished the same way as other end-glow PMMA fiber. The 6000 m roll length is typical for high-density star-ceiling production.

Is SK20 compatible with standard POF data links? No. SK20 is a lighting/end-glow grade of bare PMMA fiber, not a datalink-qualified POF for communication transceivers. For data applications use jacketed communication POF such as the DC or GH series shown elsewhere on this site.
