The 4 mm ultra-bright side-glow PMMA fiber is a robust decorative light guide built for swimming pools, water features and wet-side installations, glowing evenly along its length with a UV- and algae-resistant jacket.
Product Overview
Side-glow fiber is a safe alternative to neon: it changes color, is virtually unbreakable and energy efficient. This 4 mm PMMA version carries an algaecide- and fungicide-treated, UV-protected outer jacket, so it can live beside pool water, on amusement rides, in extreme cold or fully underwater — because there is no heat or electricity in the cable itself. With an 80 W LED engine, a run of this ultra-bright side-glow fiber can reach around 60 m, roughly double a standard polymer side-glow cable.

Can it be fully underwater? The fiber jacket is treated for wet use and carries no voltage; the LED engine must be installed dry and rated for the location — never submerge the engine.
How long a run can one engine drive? Supplier data says an 80 W engine can drive about 60 m of this ultra-bright 4 mm side-glow fiber; longer runs are split between engines.
